Adventures as a Medical Translator

I forgot to blog about my 24 hour shift at the local hospital. Yes 24 hours, from 7:30am on Saturday to 7:30am on Sunday.

It was a pretty interesting experience. I shadowed the Doc who didn’t speak any Spanish and got to see some really interesting things:

  • A self-inflicted bee sting
  • A baby delivery
  • A pistol fight wound (sans bullets)
  • A bunch of other patients with varying illnesses

It was a crazy night. I only got 2 hours of sleep in those 24 hours and that was rough.

I was ready to be a librarian on Monday.

Cataloguing

I really enjoy cataloguing, which is a good thing because I have reached a point in the project where I must catalog a ton of books.
